Unfortunate incident

This past weekend Hugh Huffaker, Jacob Fellers, Voges, and I took another 3 day trip up to the Ozark Mountains, AR. The trip was overall pretty good. Filled with very nice weather, and good friends. Notable sends include Jacob climbing Jeffs Prow, Voges climbing PCP Traverse & Dirty 30, Hugh doing Center Splooge, and myself climbing Her Majesty, and Dirty 30 as well. Other then that Voges and I got veeerrry close on taking down Wood Grain Grippin.... until unfortunately devastation struck. On what could have been the send burn i pulled into the very ackward 3 finger edge and instantly heard a loud pop, and sharp pain shot up my forearm. I hit the pad in disbelief... and i knew instantly what had happened......... Popped tendon. This is the first time i've injured my tendon, and the only light i can see at the end of this dark tunnel is that i can comfortably climb (with control) on open handed edges. So with triple crown arriving this weekend, and Hueco Tanks on the 10th i can only hope i can climb SOMETHING ....... We will see...

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend,
Jweb

Bummer sorry to hear it! I know its a pain and expensive but definitely get it looked at. A good doctor will be able to diagnose you without an MRI, hopefully. I would say if you have movement in your finger with joint blocking (isolate one part of the finger and wiggle) your tendon is absolutely fine. Most likely you popped one of your pulleys which shocked and strained your tendon, hence the forearm pain. However if you have no movement in your finger take care and get it checked out for sure. Good luck!

Don't be a dick. There's no climb in Arkansas called her majesty. It's called Ab lounge. Just because it got a serious downgrade doesn't mean we should disrespect the first ascent. For it's time, it was futuristic in Arkansas.

Arkansas climber .. im a little confused by your comment. I am sorry i called this boulder by its wrong name. I was told that it was called Her Majesty.. ? And as far as being a dick, i am unaware i was being one. I am also unaware that this bloc got a serious downgrade ? I personally saw it to be low end v9, not v10. Though this is a personal opinion, i am sure many would agree if it were to get more traffic. My minor opinions of this climb in no way disrespect the boulder, or the person who established it. So your comment seems a bit irrational. Please, if you would like to provide productive conversation feel free to fill us in on the boulders history.

Also, if your going to be controversial and lash out with random insults, please be respectful to me and yourself, and leave your name.

Thanks,
Jweb

Sorry, I assumed that if you were calling the climb Her Majesty then you knew the story behind it. But apparently not and so I revoke my dick comment.
Scott Fitzgerald put up the climb as Ab Lounge in the winter of 06 or 07 and originally graded it V12. Making it one of the harder blocs at the time. It was quickly repeated and downgraded to V10. Obviously Scott had misgraded it but that doesnt deserve disrespect. But as a way of disrespecting the first ascentionist and the climb all together, some locals began calling it Her Majesty. None of which have repeated the climb.
Sorry for my false assumptions. I hadn't realized that the name Her Majesty had gotten out of a circle of about 15 people in Arkansas.

Crap man, that sucks about the finger. I hope that gets better soon! I've had some trouble with my fingers as well and came across this site that explains all the different climbing related injuries. Maybe it will be of some use to you too. its http://climbinginjuries.com/page/fingers. Hope it doesn't slow you down to bad, I'm enjoying all the recent vids!
